Welcome to BowlingBallShipping.com (“BBS”). By using our website, booking shipments, or interacting with our services, you agree to the following terms and conditions in full. If you don’t agree, don’t use the site — seriously.
1. Who We Are
BowlingBallShipping.com is powered by Backhaul Direct, LLC, a leading national logistics provider. This platform leverages Backhaul Direct’s proprietary Grapevine™ TMS technology and carrier network to offer a streamlined, self-managed solution for shipping bowling balls to and from tournaments and events.
2. Service Overview
We provide packaging materials, labels, and optional insurance coverage to help bowlers safely ship their equipment to tournament destinations. You are responsible for packaging your equipment correctly, delivering it to the designated carrier, and following all instructions provided during booking.
3. Packaging & Shipment Responsibility
You, the shipper, are 100% responsible for:
Using the correct box dimensions and weights you declared during booking
Following our step-by-step packaging instructions, including H-taping, double boxing, and secure sealing
Affixing the label correctly and not covering seams
Dropping off the box with the carrier noted on the label — or using the bar code in your confirmation email if you lose the label
Ensuring the return shipment is dropped off after the event unless a BowlingBallShipping.com rep is onsite and has explicitly communicated alternative instructions
* If you use your own box instead of our official packaging, it must match the declared
dimensions exactly. If you add extra weight or misrepresent the size, we will charge your
credit card on file for the carrier’s adjustment fees plus a $10 penalty per violation.
4. Insurance & Claims
All shipments include up to $100 in coverage for physical loss or damage in transit. You may purchase higher insurance limits at checkout:
$250 coverage – $19.99
$500 coverage – $34.99
$1,000 coverage – $49.99
Coverage is limited to $250 per ball. You must submit claims within 7 calendar days of delivery or carrier-confirmed loss. We may replace the ball or issue reimbursement (at our discretion). We are not liable for cosmetic damage, stolen packages after delivery, late arrivals, or packaging errors.
If you do not purchase additional insurance, your total coverage is capped at $100.
5. Delivery Timing
We do not guarantee delivery dates. Transit times vary by service level and location. We recommend shipping at least 8 (eight) business days prior to your tournament to ensure on-time arrival. BBS is not liable for delays, missed events, or any related costs.
6. Returns After Events
Unless you’re explicitly told otherwise, you are responsible for dropping off your return shipment using the label provided. If your tournament is staffed by a BBS rep, return collection may be offered — but you must confirm this in writing or via onsite signage. When in doubt, take it to the carrier yourself.
7. Credit Card Authorization
By booking a shipment, you agree that BowlingBallShipping.com may retain your credit card on file and charge it for:
- Additional carrier charges due to incorrect weight or dimensions
- Penalties for using non-compliant packaging
- Unpaid insurance upgrades or adjustments
- Any fees incurred due to improper drop-off or mis-delivery caused by customer error
You authorize us to charge the card used at checkout and agree not to dispute these
charges if carrier or platform records confirm the issue.
8. Data Collection & Use
We collect personal data (name, contact info, shipping activity, device behavior, etc.) and may use this information for:
- Customer service and shipment tracking
- Marketing campaigns and retargeting
- Performance analytics and business insights
- Partner promotions and collaborative offers
By using the site, you agree that your data may be shared with trusted partners affiliated with BBS and Backhaul Direct. For more, see our Privacy Policy.
9. Acceptable Use:
You may not:
- Ship anything other than bowling equipment without written approval
- Use fake weights, tamper with carrier labels, or manipulate packaging to lower costs
- Abuse the insurance or claims process
- Interfere with our systems or attempt to reverse-engineer our platform
Violation of these terms may result in order cancellation, withheld refunds, denied claims, or permanent suspension.
10. Legal Stuff
BowlingBallShipping.com is a platform operated under Backhaul Direct, LLC. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana. Any disputes will be resolved in courts located in Marion County, Indiana.
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the site after updates means you accept the changes.
